The Elemental Battle, in turn, rewards the brave and the bold with tons of elemental treasures when they climb the floors and compete with other players. It will be accessible every Sunday during the Abyss Season.

Players can also boost Guild Guardians for handy protection properties, which are accessible once the character reaches MI Lvl 1 (Lvl 400). The Guild should also reach Lvl 2, and leveling up the Guild Guardian requires [Guild Contribution] and [Contribution Points].

Fortnite x Air Jordan collaboration means new cosmetics are on the way!

December 02, 2021 by RSS Feed

Cosmetics are one of the many reasons why Fortnite continues to be a favourite with FPS fanatics. And Epic Games leaves no stone unturned when it comes to loading the game with new and unique character skins and outfits frequently.

Over the years, Fortnite has collaborated with movies, famous characters, and brands to bring a new vibe to the game. This time, players will be able to wear the Cool Grey Sneakers by Air Jordan.

The collaboration comes just in time for the 20th anniversary of the popular sneaker pair. The Nike’s line, Air Jordan, will be releasing Cool Grey Sneakers for the third time ever since the pair’s original launch in 2001.

Back then, Air Jordan 11 Cool Grey sneakers became so popular that they had to be released a second time in 2010.

Celebrating Sneakers with Cool New Outfits

Fortnite hasn’t stopped at shoes. It has added some cool gear to complement the sneakers. Your avatars can be dressed in the new ‘Hangtime’ and ‘Swish’ outfits. Both the athleisure outfits are greyish and go well with the shoes. You also get two other colour variants.

Along with the outfit and shoes, players can get themselves a paint spray, emotes, and back bling to be fully decked out. Of course, you can buy the outfit (in cool grey) and the shoes in the Cool Grey bundle.

The two colour variants (powder blue and glaze-y silver) and paint spray can be unlocked through Jumpman Zone. You have to get into the six portals, go on a scavenger hunt, and complete some quests to get the goodies.

Looks like Fortnite and Nike seem to have a lucrative partnership. This is their second collaboration since 2019. If everything goes well with the new Air Jordan collection, we might see another collaboration in the future.

Rocket League Sideswipe controller support: Everything you need to know

December 02, 2021 by RSS Feed

Psyonix has finally launched the mobile spin-off for the popular game Rocket League. The mobile version, Rocket League Sideswipe, can now be downloaded from Google Play as well as the App Store. The game has managed to get mostly positive reviews and favorable ratings.

The basic gameplay is the same with easy mobile-friendly touch controls. However, the developer has provided support for external controllers.

Which controllers can be used in Rocket League Sideswipe?

The official Psyonix website says that all the controllers can be used to play Rocket League Sideswipe. However, it further adds that the controller has to be compatible with your device. Interestingly, the game lets you play with a controller and use touch controls at the same time.

How to connect a controller to play Rocket League Sideswipe?

Some players find it easier to play with a controller. Connecting your controller to your mobile device is a quick and easy process. Here’s a quick rundown on how to do it:

  • Press the button on your controller that turns on Bluetooth. For instance, you can activate the Bluetooth in PS4 and PS4 controllers by pressing the mid button with the logo
  • Next, turn the Bluetooth of your device on
  • In Bluetooth settings, look for your controller’s name and pair the devices. If your phone doesn’t connect to the controller, try pairing them a few more times. If it still doesn’t work, then chances are that they are not compatible

Once the device and controller are connected, you can launch the game and start playing right away.

The controller support has sparked debates on Reddit. Some users claim that players with controllers will have an edge. Other users have commented that the mobile controls were easy and customizable.

It will be interesting to see how the debate turns out.

Here's what you need to know about Rocket League Sideswipe

December 01, 2021 by RSS Feed

Rocket League has finally made its way to mobile, albeit in a slightly modified form. Rocket League Sideswipe pits teams of two against each other in a sport where the object is to use cars to knock a gigantic ball into a goal point. Since its launch earlier this week, we dove into the game to get a sense of how it stands in comparison to the original Rocket League as well as a standalone mobile experience. Watch the video above to view some extended gameplay of it and read on below for our thoughts on our time with it so far.

It seems the primary goal for the creators of Rocket League Sideswipe was to make an experience that feels as frenetic and tense as traditional matches of Rocket League but in a streamlined format that is easier to play in bursts and while using touch controls. For the most part, it seems developers Psyonix nailed this goal. By making the playing field a flat, 2D space and shortening matches to 2 minutes, Rocket League Sideswipe feels super satisfying to control and easy to play on-the-go whenever you have a few minutes.

Rocket League Sideswipe gives players three ways to play this modified version of Rocket League. Doubles seems to be the primary mode, which is a 2-on-2 match with raised, soccer-style goals that require players to boost to fly or arc jumps off the ground to fling the ball into the goal. Hoops is a similar mode except the goal points are modeled after oversized basketball hoops where shots need to go over a rim and through a hoop to score. And finally, there's a Duel mode which is a 1-on-1 version of Doubles.

Keeping its modes limited and straightforward is a smart move to prevent multiplayer queuing from ever getting too long, as nothing is worse than whipping out your phone to play a game and spending a ton of time waiting. To further combat this, Rocket League Sideswipe allows players to check any combination of modes they'd like to play to find the first available match of the selected types faster. After completing matches, you can also instantly rejoin the queue, which is a big reason why I've spent so much time playing it these past couple days. It's almost too easy to play another round.

As for the gameplay itself, Rocket League Sideswipe isn't nearly as complex as the original game, but it is a quality competitive multiplayer game in its own right. Vehicles control snappily, and there are some nifty in-game indicators that allow you to keep track of the way you're about to boost your car without ever having to look at the virtual control sticks. Despite being constrained to a 2D play field, the gameplay still feels like it has a high skill ceiling and can set up really dramatic matches that require teamwork, skill, and perhaps a little bit of luck.

On a final note, it's worth noting that Rocket League Sideswipe appears to buck the trend of popular console and PC titles creating mobile titles focused on monetization and free-to-play mechanics. Rocket League Sideswipe is free to download, but it has no in-app purchases of any kind and gives you immediate access to the three game modes it offers after a brief tutorial. All that said, Rocket League Sideswipe does have some in-game unlocks and a progression system for earning cosmetic items for your car, but as of this writing there is no way to pour money into that system to accelerate or bypass it.

We'll continue to play Rocket League Sideswipe for the next few days to see if this glowing first impression starts to fade over time, but for now, we couldn't be happier with it. Feel free to check it out for yourself! It's free, after all!
