Now, what does this have to do with Terraria? Turns out, a lot. Because Dreadnautilus is a mini-boss that you will face in Hardmode.

How to Summon Dreadnautilus in Terraria

Summoning Dreadnautilus can be a challenge. In fact, this is one of the hardest enemies to summon. First of all, you need to remember that Dreadnautilus has to be defeated during the night. At the crack of the dawn, this nautilus will go poof and despawn.

Now, there’s only one way to summon Dreadnautilus. You have to fish this guy out during a Blood Moon. To increase your chances of meeting Dreadnautilus, you can use a Chum Caster.

Of course, this doesn’t guarantee that Dreadnautilus will take the bait since this boss only has a 10% chance of spawning. Instead, you might end up catching Wandering Eye Fish, Zombie Merman, Blood Eel, and Hemogoblin Shark.

How to Defeat the Dreadnautilus

Defeating Dreadnautilus can be hard. During the fight, you might think – is this really a mini-boss? But don’t worry, defeating the boss is easier than summoning it.

Dreadnautilus charges at you, throws red projectiles and also spawns blood squids. It does all it can to slay you. So you’ll want to slay the squids and take cover from the projectiles. The boss also has high defense, so you should consider using an Ichor debuff.

Best Weapons for Slaying Dreadnautilus

Every good fighter sharpens their weapon before a battle. In Terraria, you need to pick the right weapon before doing so. To finish off these annoying squids and focus on the boss, you should use the Blade Staff.

You can shield yourself from the projectiles by hiding under blocks. The trick is to make a box and use weapons that can go through the walls. For instance, Summons will make this battle easier. Or you could use Daedalus Stormbow with Ichor Arrows.

Now, if you’re looking forward to fighting this flying nautilus, you better get a sonar potion. This will give you an idea if you’ll be fishing out Dreadnautilus (more like a heads-up).
