Welcome back to another episode of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have some great picks for you, including a meme video maker, a powerful habit-tracker, and helpful flashcard app. And as always, we’ve selected a great new game for you to check out.
Here is a cool little app that makes it easy to add motion-tracking, floating text to your social media videos. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, and I’m sure there are a bunch of apps that already do this, but hey if you were wondering how to attach text to objects in your gifs or videos, this is one way. Plus I love the fun, neon icon.
Dashbit is a sharp-looking and powerful habit tracker. It allows for the quick creation of new habits, and it features a built-in task planner and todo lists to help you reach your goals. But what really stands out about this app is the beautiful dashboard view, which lets you see your progress at a glance. I also like that it supports sleep, mindfulness and other Health app data, so you’re not entering things twice.
Finally someone has made a good digital flashcard app. Obligatory disclaimer, I’m sure there are others I’m not aware of, but I distinctly remember looking for something like this a few years ago and there weren’t many good options. Anyway Muna is a simple app that lets you quickly and easily create a flashcard deck from your notes to help you study. Supports CSV exports, Kindle and JSON formats, and more.
It’s nice to see a well-designed public game not confined behind the walls of Apple Arcade. CuBuGo is a rotation-based puzzle adventure (think Monument Valley) set in a bizzare M.C. Escher world of impossible geometry. There are 45 puzzles, spread across 5 unique worlds, and you’ll have to evade falling garden gnomes, voracious robots, rotating knives and more to get through them.
