Open Bar will provide you with instant gratification. The moment you launch the app you’ll begin to appreciate its slick design and animations. The basic idea of the game is to drag and drop bars onto the board in order to create completed lines of the same color. The bars can be rotated with a tap, and merged when crossed over one another. Each puzzle can be completed in three moves or less, and you’re able to use a hint at any time in case you get stuck.
Calendars 5 excels at managing both the events and tasks in your life. It’s able to import all of your already created events and tasks from your built-in Apple apps or Google. You’re then able to create new events using natural language. For example, you can enter “Meet Tyler at Starbucks at 8 PM on Sunday” as a title and Calendars 5 will automatically create the event. A bar across the top of the screen allows you to switch to the task view or view your calendar in list, day, week, or month form. The app also works online and offline, and includes search and a variety of view, alert, and task options.
Based on the bestselling Blox 3D apps, this latest iteration opens a whole new world of creativity. Your child is able to start off with a blank canvas or they can choose from a variety of pre-built cities. Designing new structures and adding animated objects is as simple as tapping on an open spot within the world. Blox 3D City Creator includes everything from basic building blocks to animated vehicles. Your child can also change the time of day within their little world.
You’re able to make your way through more than 150 illusions one swipe at a time. Your favorite illusions can be saved for repeated viewings and shared. Every illusion includes a short description to help you understand what you’re seeing, and all can be accessed without an internet connection.

Calendars 5, one of the best iOS calendar applications out there with a built-in event and task manager and native Google Calendar sync, has been slashed to zero bucks as Apple’s new Free App of the Week. The $6.99 universal productivity app is now available at no charge on the App Store until next Thursday. This marks the first time Calendars 5 has gone free in years following Readdle’s two-day promotion back in May 2014.
This is arguably among the best calendar apps I’ve ever used on my iOS devices, standing right up there at the top, standing next to Flexibits’ Fantastical. Calendars 5 features an elegant design that’s easy on your eyes, it’s optimized for gesture-based controls and works seamlessly with the stock Calendar and Reminders apps and your Google Calendar.
Much like Fantastical, Calendars 5 has a smart-type auto detection feature that makes adding a new event a breeze using natural language processing. For instance, you simply type or say "Meet Jim tomorrow at Starbucks at 4pm". The app will parse this and create an event at given time, send the invite to a person and pick a place on a Google or Apple map.
To learn more about the app, read Lorry’s review of Calendars 5.

To explore your options, make sure to check out our list of best calendar apps for iPhone. Calendars 5 made its App Store debut back in November 2013 and user reviews on the store have given it a consistent rating of four and a half stars.
Calendars 5 requires an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 8.0 or later.
Calendars 5 lacks a native Apple Watch app and is localized in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.
Grab Calendars 5 for free on the App Store through next Thursday.

Your Alien Hatchi will need to be fed, played with, exercised, educated, and generally looked after to make sure it grows up happy. Every action you perform will cost a little bit of fuel, but you can earn more by going for a walk with your pet and playing mini-games. The game also includes stat tracking, and achievements via Game Center.
Hashpic puts an end to endless camera roll scrolling. Instead, it allows you to simply snap a picture of what you want to remember, whether that’s a model number of a product or a tasty beer you tried at your friend's house, and hashtag it for quick discovery. Pictures can include multiple hashtags in order to refine your searches. The app also includes the ability to adjust the size of the picture grid, import pictures, and attach additional notes.
As mayor, you'll be tasked with everything from sending vehicles on delivery routes to upgrading buildings. The game includes 52 levels in four beautiful locations, 29 mission scenarios, 42 types of goods to transport, more than 50 building types, 12 production changes to master, and achievements and leaderboards via Game Center.
The best thing about iLightningCam 2 is that it does most of the work for you. All you need to do is find a thunderstorm and a safe place to wait until lightning strikes. The app will automatically detect when lightning strikes, adjust its settings, and snap an up to 8 MP photo. Of course, ISO ranges are manually adjustable as well in case you want to have a go at it yourself.

Pinterest today announced a completely overhauled iPhone and iPad application—"our fastest, cleanest app yet"—that lets you focus on more Pins than ever before. The app, used by more than a hundred million people around the world, is a lot faster than the previous version it replaced, with your Home feed now loading up to three times faster.
The refreshed application is now rolling in the App Store so check back later if the new version isn’t immediately available where you live. The Android edition of Pinterest and its web-based counterpart are next on Pinterest’s list to tackle, though they wouldn’t commit to a firm release dates for these.
Pinterest’s new design and a cleaner user interface makes it easy to focus more on Pins. As mentioned, when you open the app your Home feed now loads three times faster than before. Scrolling through other feeds is noticeably smoother with up to 10x improvements in touch responsiveness and scrolling smoothness. The app features some nicely designed animations and transitions done in a performant way.
Pinterest’s major speed increased is due to the fact that developers haven’t simply given the app a new coat of paint—they’ve actually re-architected the entire platform from the ground up around a new framework that’s faster to build in and easier to scale.
The app relies heavily on multithreaded code: user interface rendering, image downloading, GIF decoding, model processing and other critical aspects of the app take full advantage of multiple processing cores in Apple’s A-series chips.
"The fastest and easiest way to reduce energy usage and increase performance was to take advantage of the fact that most iPhones have multiple processors," said developers.
Oh, and those Pins and general layouts you see are now device agnostic and Pinterest’s new framework will automatically scale fonts, margins and kerning depending on your screen size and language.
"We found Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages appear too large to native readers without a bit of scaling, so our framework automatically handles that," as per the Pinterest Engineering blog.
"These changes have laid the groundwork for future improvements, too," they added.
"Now that we’ve rebuilt things in a smarter way, engineers and designers here at Pinterest will be able to develop features faster than ever before."
Pinterest requires an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 7.0 or later.
The app is localized in English, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
