5 Middle-earth locations to look for in The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War

Aside from being one of the most in-depth global strategy games to grace pocket-sized screens, The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is also one of the few officially licensed The Lord of the Rings games that lets the players experience first-hand the beauty of the surroundings exactly as described by the books. The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War features almost every idyllic (and not so idyllic) Middle-earth location you can think of, and that’s exactly what this article will explore.

If you’ve been a fan of the books or the movies but want even more, then there’s no better chance to pick up the game and start your journey through Middle-earth than now - or rather, after reading these locations that you as a player can fight for and conquer.

Some of these key locations belong to the Evil Factions, and some to the Good Factions. Regardless of your choice (we won’t judge if you want to play for the bad guys), you can find them all in The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War. Let’s dive right in!

Precious, yet abandoned: Moria

"Before them and on either side stretched a huge empty hall; its black walls, polished and smooth as glass, flashed and glittered." (The Fellowship of the Ring, Book Two, Chapter 4)

Moria, originally known under the name of Khazad-dûm, the lost Dwarven kingdom, is an abandoned cave system of immeasurable riches. Filled with the most precious metal of Middle-earth, mithril, Moria is also home to a monstrous being that will destroy anyone who steps foot there.

Players can partake in the entire Moria saga through the Red book of Westmarch, in Chapter 7.

Ring Power: 1000/hLocation: Durin’s Vale (930, 1190)

Peaceful, serene Rivendell

"To Rivendell, where Elves yet dwellIn glades beneath the misty fell,Through moor and waste we ride in haste,And whither then we cannot tell."(The Fellowship of the Ring, Book One, Chapter 5)

Another beautiful and famous location in Middle-earth is the peaceful town of Rivendell. This Elven city also goes by the name of Imladris, and it’s located in the West of the Misty Mountains. Master Elrond is the ruler of Rivendell, and he alongside other high Elves stand guard over it.

Unlike many other famous places in the game, Rivendell is a fortress of peace, not war. However, it must be carried out if there is no other way around.

Ring Power: 1000/hLocation: Bruinen Vale (862, 1323)

Impenetrable Helm’s Deep

"Is it not said that no foe has ever taken the Hornburg, if men defended it?" (The Two Towers, Book Three, Chapter 7)

The stronghold of Men Hornburg, is a powerful location set about in the Northern part of the White Mountains, a gorge that is as impenetrable as it is beautiful. Helm’s Deep is a great strategic location, and players can also enjoy it in the Red Book of Westmarch in chapter 11.

Ring Power: 1000/hLocation: Gap of Rohan (1075, 932)

Barad-dûr, Capital of Mordor

"Then at last his gaze was held wall upon wall, battlement upon battlement, black, immeasurably strong, mountain of iron, gate of steel, tower of adamant, he saw it: Barad-dûr, Fortress of Sauron. All hope left him." (Fellowship of the Ring, Book 2, Chapter 10)

The darkest and twisted of all the locations in Middle-earth, Barad-dûr is a land of pain, suffering and the forging location of the One Ring. The Fortress of Sauron is where many bloodied battles were fought, and many terrifying creatures emerged.

It is one of the strongest Control Points in the game, and one of the most difficult to conquer alongside Kineland, The Grey Havens and Minas Tirith.

Ring Power: 1320/hLocation: Gorgoroth (1548, 1251)

The Stronghold of the Necromancer, Dol Guldur

"There lies the fastness of Southern Mirkwood... In the midst upon a stony height stands Dol Guldur, where long the hidden Enemy had his dwelling. We fear that now it is inhabited again, and with power sevenfold." (The Fellowship of the Ring, Book Two, Chapter 6)

The Hill of Dark Sorcery, Dol Guldur is the most important location in the Lord of the Rings: Rise to War. Being the land that not only grants the most Ring Power, but also the focal point for all factions due to the One Ring, it is the land where Sauron, the Lord of the Rings, operated as the Necromancer while regaining his power.

South of Mirkwood and atop the hill called Amon Lanc, Dol Guldur, this tremendous citadel was then destroyed by Galadriel’s and the Elves’ forces.

Best Fire characters in World Flipper

World Flipper has many characters that can be categorized based on six different elements. One of those elements is fire. For some levels, you will have to build a team with Fire characters. Defeating Wind characters is easier if you have a strong Fire team.

The Fire characters in World Flipper are known for high damage, rapid attacks, and cool power buffs. Their skills often cause an area of effect damage, so you need to have one Fire character in your team.

1. Clarisse

Clarisse is probably the best Fire character that your squad can have. She is a 5-star unit that powers up the other Fire units on the team. This doubles whatever damage these units do. She can head your team and also be a secondary unit. Clarisse also weakens the enemy’s resistance to fire. Her skill reloads faster and this enables her to do extra damage.

2. Hanabi

Hanabi is another 5-star Fire character that does huge AoE damage. She is described as a ninja that can toss some mean bombs. Her bombs land in the enemy’s area, set that region ablaze, and inflict fire damage. Hanabi heals her allies after a flip and lends them some attack buffs too.

3. Marina

Marina is also one of the most powerful Fire units. Her special ability “Pirate Rush” summons an enormous ship to the battlefield and deals heavy fire damage. The ship also spawns some minions. Marina increases HP and attacks with every flip. The damage also keeps piling up alongside the flips. Marina’s other skills add to her base attack powers, making her a strong addition to your squad.

PUBG New State's latest update reveals Suvivor Pass Vol. 2

The futuristic sequel to PUBG was globally launched in November. Almost a month after the launch, Krafton announced that PUBG New State will be getting a major update.

The next-gen battle royale has crossed 45 million downloads. Taking this as a cue, Krafton has decided to roll out the first update after release. As a part of the update, players will get a new survivor pass, gun, two vehicles, and a merit points system.

PUBG New State: Survivor Pass Vol.1 and Merit Points

The biggest highlight of the upcoming update is probably the new Survivor’s Pass. This Vol.2 pass is centred around the character Bella from the Dream Runner faction. Players can unlock special Bella’s costumes, NCs, and other rewards. To unlock items from the Survivor’s Pass Vol. 2, players will have to complete some story missions. Of course, the premium version of the pass has many more rewards.

The Merit Points system is another big change that is coming to PUBG New State. To ensure that players have a more positive environment and fair play, players will now be given Merit Points. Players that get reported for toxic behaviour (for instance, team kills) will lose points. Those players will be banned from playing Squad Mode until they earn those points back.

New weapons, vehicles, and customization in PUBG New State

The upcoming update will introduce a new weapon to the game. The L85A3, an Assault Rifle with low recoil, is perfect for mid-to-long range combat. This AR uses 5.56 ammo, has high damage, and a low rate of fire. Players can attach a Vertical Foregrip Bipod to control the gun’s recoil. However, this will compromise the ADS speed a bit.

For the M146 and the SLR, the update will enable some more customization options. For the M416, players can attach a Long Barrel. This will increase the damage along with vertical recoil. Meanwhile, a 5.56mm Barrel can be attached to the SLR to perk up the accuracy. But this will slightly affect the damage output.

Vehicles and the tram system were a big part of PUBG New State’s promotions. And now, the game will have two more vehicles. Mesta, a two-seater sports car, will be available for a drive after the update. Meanwhile, Troi will be getting a minibus. The Electron can accommodate six players and ride around the map.

Blast Waves lets you shoot your way through an intergalactic war in pixel art graphics, out now on iOS and Android

Blast Waves is a new tactical arcade shooter from solo developer Kyle Barrett (the man behind the highly rated roguelike Immortal Rogue), and it's out now on iOS and Android devices across the globe. As the latest project from, the pixel art title lets you use everything in your arsenal to survive an intergalactic war.

While fighting off hordes of enemies can be pretty relentless, Blast Waves does reward the valiant souls who survive the conflict in the game's Survival Mode. These heroes are unlocked as permanently playable characters, who will then lead their own teams as clone Squad Commanders in the Command Mode.

Here, players will organize their own squads and fight as long as they can in an auto-battler-esque style. There are over a hundred weapons, armor, and gadgets to unlock, as well as six unique biomes to explore. Players will also have to master a wide variety of enemy troop types and distinct environmental obstacles to make it out of the scuffle unscathed. Just remember: path to move, hold to crouch, and drag to shoot.
