Flow – Depression provides helpful information along with audio and video exercises from noted experts wrapped in a well-designed and easy-to-use tool that helps users manage their stress.
Featuring customizable anti-stress plans, this app helps users regain control over the stress in their lives.
Features:
Flow – Depression is perfect for today’s stressful situation a much needed focus towards helping consumers combat feelings of depression and improve overall mental health.
Developed by Flow Neuroscience AB, this app does this by connecting with the Flow neural stimulator headset. The brain stimulation headset isn’t cheap (€459, or about $516USD), but then again when compared to the cost of therapy the monthly payment plan looks quite reasonable.
Also, it’s worth noting that while you’re likely to get the best results by using the headset, you can use the treatment program without buying the headset. That’s a nice option that gives would-be users a chance to see if it’s something they may want to go further with.
The treatment program covers key areas of your overall well being including exercise, meditation, sleep and nutrition. We’re glad it covers nutrition because as they used to say in the ’70s, you are what you eat.
Good nutrition (i.e., less junk and pre-packaged food) might be all you need.
Appearance and Layout:
Flow – Depression offers an impressive variety of features that tells you right away the developers have put lots of thought into what they want to do and how they believe users would be best served by it.
Navigation through Flow is a beautifully easy task. The designers of the app did an excellent job of incorporating its many features into a fairly simple layout that users will benefit from every time they use it.
Additionally, the graphics used throughout this app are also clean and clear; good quality photos and images keep things bright and engaging to the eyes, and all icons used within Flow are easy to understand as well.
Value:
While Flow is a free download, it is best used with a headset that will run you about $25 per month.
Of course, if it works for users, this price is minute compared to the cost of other more popular depression-relieving strategies (like in-person therapy or medication).
We are somewhat conflicted by this but users rate the app and headset as effective so we would love to get your feedback should you decide to the app with or without the headset.
Overall, this is a polished app that is well designed and offers a no-cost way to begin exploring what they have to offer.
Flow – Depression requires iOS 11.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
